Under supervision of the Director of Preclinical Research, this position is responsible for the organization and management of aspects related to biorepositories housed at START preclinical including clinical and preclinical samples and associated data sent to and generated by START and collaborators. This position is responsible for documentation and preparation of samples for shipment and for direct interactions with third party providers that process, test and/or characterize samples and management of deliverables and other responsibilities as needed in day-to-day operations of the Preclinical Research Group.
- Organize and manage clinical and preclinical samples generated by or sent to the START preclinical group; this includes but not restricted to fresh, frozen and paraffin fixed samples. Monthly update of logs for samples and associated consents, collections and model status.
- Maintain and update START models list, IHC and characterization results and data results as needed for internal studies.
- Compiles patient, model and other data related to past, current or future biobank samples, models and other data as needed.
- Assists in organization, documentation and preparation for internal and sponsor sample shipments including application, submission and upkeep of all pertinent documentation.
- Interacts with pathology groups regarding FFPE, IHC, TMA prep, slides, photos, OCT, antibodies and other tasks as needed.
- Prepares and ships environmental monitoring and pathogen testing samples.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelors degree preferred. Knowledge and training in animal research preferred; must be familiar with Microsoft Office applications; background in Natural Sciences preferred. Good record keeping and ability to work in a fast paced team environment is a must.
